Yummy Homemade Granola Bars

Dannika was not feeling well last night. Her tummy was hurting and she had a headache and a fever of about 100 I would guesstimate. So, today I was FOR SURE keeping her home. After a bath we decided it was a jammy day for all day. Destiny was quite upset because to her a pajama party means you HAVE to watch movies, but... much to her dismay that is NOT what we did today. I try to limit the tv time for her as it only seems to lead to problems. We made it all day with no tv for these two. Whew. I do believe I'm exhausted. So, I had seen a recipe online from a blog I follow http://naturalhomemadeliving.blogspot.com/ and thought it would be fun to try. Homemade granola bars. Doesn't that sound MUCH healthier than the box you buy? I'm still on cheap mode for those who have read my cheap post, thus the homemade granola bars were right up my alley.

Destiny helped add ingredients while Dannika did the stirring. We actually all loved them. It was an easy recipe and tastes great. We will for sure be making these again soon. The only thing that I found was I needed to leave them in the refridgerater longer to actually set.

You can get this great recipe HERE - http://naturalhomemadeliving.blogspot.com/

I love their great recipes and tips from decorating to organizing to cleaning supplies. A fun and easy site to read. Thanks ladies for motivating me today to get our BaKING on!!

We added peanut butter and mini chocolate chips to the top of our granola bars but I would really love to try them with a layer of nutella. That sounds amazing. I don't know if it would actually set up or be too runny to actually eat neatly, but I bet it would be YUMMY. I also don't know how to wrap them for future use. I guess these did not last long enough to actually wrap but I would love to make some up ahead of time for all our sack suppers and meals on the go.

I tried the Nutella spread on top of the bars. Delicious!!! You have to cool them FIRST, or the Nutella will not spread! Not that I tried it or anything, just saying, it MIGHT be a good idea! Lol!
